Orthotic Therapy

At Surrey Hills Podiatry we use a range of pre-made and custom orthotic devices to help in the treatment and prevention of various pathologies and symptoms. We will perform a biomechanical assessment and gait analysis to determine the most suitable option for your specific needs. Our custom made orthotics are made using the latest technology. See the "3D laser scanned orthotics" page for more information.

Diabetes

It is very important that people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes visit a podiatrist at least every 6 months for a check up and diabetic assessment. People with diabetes are at risk of developing nerve and blood vessel damage in their feet and at Surrey Hills Podiatry we can check for any changes and discuss your level of risk and the appropriate precautions to take to minimise complications.

Nail Surgery

In many cases, an in grown toenail can be managed conservatively over the course of a few visits until it has resolved. Sometimes due to the shape of the patients nail or damage that has occurred, part of the nail will need to be removed surgically under local anaesthetic. We have performed many of these minor nail procedures and will be able to advise you whether it is the best option for you.

CChildren's Feet

Children's feet are not just small versions of adult feet, in fact the bones have not fully formed until the child is about 18 years old. The feet of young children are mostly cartilage inside and are therefore susceptible to mechanical forces from walking pressures and from footwear. There are many variations in the way children walk as well as the shape and positioning of their feet. A podiatrist can perform an assessment on your child and offer advice if intervention is required.
